Android Development Tools (ADT) is a custom plugion for the Eclipse IDE. With this ADT, you can create, build, and dubug Android applications in Eclipse environment.
To install the ADT plguin, we will use Eclipse Update Manager tool. First, start Eclipse and go to Menu / Help / Install New Software…
Click Add… button and type like below. Then click OK.
Name: Android Plugin
Select Developer Tools and click Next.
Keep following processes by clicking next and accepting the license agreements. Then click Finish button.
During the install process, it may notice a Security Warning. You can pass the warning by clicking OK button to continue.
When the installation completes, restart Eclipse.
Once you’ve successfully downloaded ADT as described above, the next step is to modify your ADT preferences in Eclipse to point to the Android SDK directory.
Go to Menu / Eclipse / Preferences
Select Android in the left panel.
For the SDK Location in the main panel, click Browse… and locate your downloaded SDK directory.
Click Apply, then OK.
